Glutinous Rice and Red Date Four-Corner Zongzi Recipe

Ingredients for Glutinous Rice and Red Date Four-Corner Zongzi:
– Glutinous rice (black): half a catty

– Round grain sticky rice: 2 catty

– Red dates: 150 pieces

– String: appropriate amount

– Zongzi leaves: 50-60 pieces

Steps for making Glutinous Rice and Red Date Four-Corner Zongzi:

Step 1: Clean and soak the red dates, both types of sticky rice, and zongzi leaves overnight.

Step 2: Boil the soaked zongzi leaves in water, then remove and set aside. Place two boiled leaves together and roll them into a conical shape from the center, then fill with soaked sticky rice and red dates.

Step 3: Use a small spoon to press down firmly, hold the sides with your hands, fold the zongzi leaves over to cover the rice, and tie tightly with string. A beautiful four-corner zongzi is now wrapped.

Step 4: Place the wrapped zongzi in a pressure cooker, add water, cover with the pressure cooker lid, and set the timer to cook for one and a half hours. After turning off the heat, do not open the pot immediately; the longer the zongzi is left to steam, the better it tastes.

Step 5: Remove the steamed zongzi and soak them in cold water. The soaked zongzi will be sticky and firm.

Step 6: The nutritionally rich, soft, and sweet Glutinous Rice and Red Date Four-Corner Zongzi is simply delicious.
